Custom Cruisers of Northern Virginia and the Clifton Lions Club held their 13th Annual Show “On the Streets” on Labor Day, raising funds to benefit two local charities — Life with Cancer and the Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program.

The event raised nearly $15,000, which will be evenly divided between the two charities, according to Jim Chesley, president of Custom Cruisers of Northern Virginia.

Chesley was expecting about 450 show cars, but because of weather, only 183 cars were registered.

The parking areas were packed to capacity until the car show ended. Chesley said there were about 2,000 spectators.

"We had a good day, and everyone had a good time," said Chesley.

Chesley said donations of any amount are still being accepted, and are 100 percent tax deductible. To donate, send a check made out to the Clifton Lions Club to Jim Chesley at 7207 Main Street, Clifton, VA 20124.
