The following items are from recent police updates through Nov. 28 from the Sully, West Springfield and Franconia police districts of the Fairfax County Police Department.

Fatal Crash (green on map), A 62-year-old woman died when her car veered off the road and struck a tree. The driver, Dinh Quy of the 6200 block of William Edgar Drive in Alexandria was operating her 2009 Toyota Corolla in the parking lot of the shopping center on the southeast corner of Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill Road.

On Nov. 27, shortly after 7 p.m. Quy left the parking lot and headed north in the southbound lanes of Rolling Road. After passing through the intersection of Old Keene Mill Road, the car veered to the left and struck a tree on the west side of Rolling Road. Quy was pronounced dead a short time later.

It is not yet known if a medical condition, alcohol or speed were factors contributing to this crash and it is still under investigation.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

Prescription Fraud (blue on map), 2 p.m., 11/23/12, 8400 block of Old Keene Mill Road, Officers were called for an alleged prescription fraud. The suspect had just left the store, so officers conducted a traffic stop. Michael Washington, 38, of Maryland, was charged with possession of false identification, obtaining prescription by false pretense and driving while revoked.

Unlawful Entry (purple on map), 4:30 a.m., 11/26/12, 9400 block of Ulysses Court, A resident reported someone entered the home illegally. Forced entry was made through the front door. Evidence shows that several phone calls were made and received.

Burglary (red on map), 6 p.m., 11/28/12, 5200 block of Olley Lane, A resident reported someone entered his car which was parked in the garage and stole musical instruments. Entry was made through an unsecured door.

• 6000 block of Burke Commons Road - jacket from business
• 10000 block of Downeys Wood Court - electric test equipment from vehicle
• 6400 block of Limerick Court - jacket from business
• 6800 block of Ontario Street - generator from vehicle

No vehicle thefts were reported at the time.
