Your Turn: Presidential Debate Topics
What issues would you like to see discussed during tonight’s debate between President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney?
President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney will discuss domestic policy, the economy and more during tonight's presidential debate.
In the past week, Patch has asked Northern Virginia residents to weigh in on important issues they'd like to see the candidates discuss. Northern Virginia business owners told Patch they want to hear more about small business development, small business loans, and healthcare among other issues.
Danielle Romanetti, who opened a small business in Alexandria in 2009, told Patch, "I have impeccable credit and I couldn't get a bank loan. ... The key to economic growth is through small businesses, but if you can't open your small business because you can't get a loan, I guess that means that only the wealthy can open new businesses. That needs to change."
Sequestration is another top issue affecting Northern Virginia residents. The fiscal cliff and possible sequestration and other defense cuts could hit Northern Virginia's defense contractors and overall economy hard.
Now it's your turn.
What issues would you like to see discussed during tonight's first presidential debate? Are you concerned about middle class taxes? Business regulations? Job creation? Transportation?
