BUDDHIST MEDITATION – It’s easy to begin your meditation practice at Ekoji Buddhist Temple! The Meditation Group meets on Thursday evenings for sitting meditation, walking meditation, chanting of the Heart Sutra, and tea and conversation. Meditation starts at 8pm. Please come early for a short tour of the temple at 7:30 and basic instruction on how to meditate. Comfortable clothing and shoes that slip on and off easily are recommended; walking meditation is outdoors in the Garden of the Three Treasures when weather permits.

More About Ekoji Buddhist Temple
Ekoji is a warm and accepting Buddhist Temple whose mother establishment is located in Kyoto, Japan. The term Ekoji means "Temple of the gift of light." Founded in 1981, Ekoji moved to its current location on Lakehaven Lane in 1998. The Temple exercises Shin Buddhism, taught by Rev. Kurt Rye. It also hosts many cultural activities and community events. Services are open to everyone, of any religion or background. Tours for newcomers are given frequently throughout the week. Whether you're considering switching to Buddhism or not, any of Ekoji's secheduled cultural events will provide you with an enlightening experience.
