Fairview Elementary School is one of the oldest schools in Fairfax County. It was founded in 1899 and opened its doors as a one-room school house. More than 100 years and quite a few renovations later, Fairview Elementary School now boasts several classrooms, an athletic field and parking lot and educates over 500 students.

Fairview Elementary is nestled safely a few hundred feet away from the intersection of Burke Center Road and Ox Road behind a row of trees and serves both cities of Fairfax Station and Burke.

Fairview Elementary School has been repeatedly recognized as one of the top-performing schools in Fairfax County and the Metro DC area, receiving the Governor's Award for Educational Excellence in 2009. The school administration believes that a combination of the staff's teamwork and the tremendous community support makes Fairview such a great school.

Fairview offers Special Education programs in addition to their Kindergarten through Sixth Grade classes. Special Education services are available through inclusion or separate classes, depending on the students' needs. Fairview also provides PAC, a preschool class for 2 – 5 year olds with developmental delays.

The community can also take advantage of additional services such as the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Program; before and after care through the SACC (School Age After Care) program;  Advanced Academics for gifted students and foreign language instruction programs.

School Administration Hours are 7:45 AM - 4;15 PM, Monday through Friday.
