K. Carl Smith Talks 'Frederick Douglass Republicans' at GOP Meeting in Fairfax Station

The Republican Women of Clifton hosted conservative speaker Wednesday night.

The Republican Women of Clifton hosted speaker K. Carl Smith at its meeting Wednesday night at Fairview Elementary School in Fairfax Station. Smith discussed what he called 'Frederick Douglass Republicans,' to the group.

Smith teaches a seminar on the "Frederick Douglass Republican movement" about what he calls the conservative values of the African American reformer. "We must get in the trenches and share our conservative values," Smith says on a video about the workshops he teaches.

Known as a political motivator, Smith "uses his expertise to provide down-to-earth solutions on how the conservative movement can broaden its base," according to the Republican Women of Clifton Web site.

Smith has appeared on the 700 Club and FOXNews’ Huckabee Show and has participated in The Runaway Slave, a soon to be released documentary produced by the Reverent C.L. Bryant.
