Patch Pet of the Week

Adopt from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D) said recently that his New Year's resolution was to train the new puppy his family adopted from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, located at 4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax, Va., 22030.

He encouraged others to adopt and in that spirit, we're going to show Patch readers some of the lovely pets available for adoption in our area.

The first pet up? His name is Heman (we're not sure if that's pronounced "he man" or ?. Heman is a black domestic long-hair cat, neutered, who, shelter volunteers say, is about 10 years old. He's been living at the shelter since Nov. 30th.
