The question isn’t “what is Neeta Singh good at?” it’s “what isn’t Neeta Singh good at?”

This well rounded eighth grader at Westminster School has been a pillar of the arts, academics and volunteerism for years.

Last school year, Neeta was the Vice President of Westminster’s Builder’s Club, a Kiwanis sponsored organization devoted to service work.  They participate in activities like helping tutor underprivileged children, visiting the elderly in a local nursing home, cleaning up for VDOT through the adopt-a-highway program and making sandwiches for a local food bank.

“Her school gave her the foundation to learn about community and she’s represented the school at regional levels with the Builder’s Club,” said proud father Pete Singh.

Neeta has also made the honor roll each quarter since she became eligible in third grade.

“I work hard, I think that’s the main thing,” Neeta said.  “I’m just putting 110% into everything I do.  I think it’s just the value of working.”

Neeta has also been singled out for many end-of-the-year academic awards.

“Academically she has done well for herself; she has the foundation to move forward in life,” says Pete.

Neeta also has a lot of love for the performing and visual arts.  She plays guitar and is very involved in the drama program at Westminster.  She recently performed two roles in West Side Story Anita and Tomboy.

“I love the stage because it’s a way for you to build confidence.  You just go out there and have fun and act like someone you’re not like in real life.”

Best of all, Neeta likes to paint.

“It’s a fun way to express myself and you get to experiment,” Neeta said.
