Local Historian, Jon Vrana, Portrays Lt. Col. Silas Burke, Local Planter and Director of the Orange and Alexandria Railroad

Local historian, Jon Vrana, will portray Silas Burke at the annual meeting of the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 7:30 PM.  Silas Burke was a local planter and Director of the Orange and Alexandria Railroad.  Jon, a historical interpreter, will provide a unique view into the life of one of the real movers and shakers of the Antebellum time in Fairfax County and discuss Silas' assorted occupations including farmer/planter, grist and lumber mill owner/operator, and owner of a house of public entertainment.  Free and open to the public.
