1. Grammy winners Al Petteway and Amy White CD release party for "High in the Blue Ridge."

2. Theater of the First Amendment presents: "24, 7, 365"

Where/When: Center for the Arts at George Mason University- Harris Theater, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax /Thursday, March 10-Saturday, March 12 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 12, 2 p.m. and Sunday, March 13, 4 p.m.

Why Go: This play shows what the world would look like if people were happy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Pricing: $30 for Friday and Saturday evening performances; $25 for Thursday evening performance, Saturday and Sunday matinees

2. Kix (band)

Where/When: Jaxx Nightclub - 6355 Rolling Road, Springfield/Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Kix is an American hard rock/heavy metal band that became popular in the late 1980’s with hits like “Love at First Sight” and “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.” Since this band is originally from Maryland they have added a second show to accommodate all of their fans. This show is for ages 21 and older.

3. Jimmy Lange vs. Jimmy “The Fighting School Teacher” Holmes

Where/When: George Mason University- Patriot Center, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax/Saturday, March 12, 7 p.m.

Why Go: This is the biggest boxing show in the Washington DC area. In addition to the title fight, Fairfax native and undefeated welterweight Todd “White Lightning” Wilson will take a break from biz development at Booz Allen Hamilton to square off in the ring on Saturday.

4. Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra: Met Jazz Goes Latin

Why Go:  Enjoy a night of classic jazz and Latin beats performed by outstanding local musicians.
