Grab 'n Go Kids Planner for This Week

After mid-week rain, you'll be ready to get out!

Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday and Patch has found some activities that will make the whole family “spring forward!”

 1. Kid Science: Mirror, Mirror

2. Children’s Book Sale

Where/When: City of Fairfax Regional Library- 10360 North St., Fairfax/Saturday, March 12, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Why Go: You and your children will have the opportunity to buy your favorite classic children’s books and hopefully discover a few new titles in the process. All proceeds from the book sale go to help pay for library classes and programs.

 3. Amazing Stargazing

Where/When: Lake Accotink Park- 7500 Accotink Park Road, Springfield/Saturday, March 12, 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m.

Why Go: Your budding astronomer will marvel over deep sky objects and a light pollution demonstration. Children over 5 will make a star finder wheel and use telescopes to discover planets, star nurseries and moons.

4. Can You Hop Like a Bunny?

Where/When: Pohick Regional Library, 6450 Sydenstricker Road, Burke /Monday, March 14, 11 a.m.-11:45 a.m.

Why Go: Your two year old will enjoy listening to stories and participating in activities about rabbits. It is not necessary to register, tickets will be distributed 30 minutes before the event.

5. How to Draw Great Big Faces

Where/When: Pohick Regional Library, 6450 Sydenstricker Road, Burke/Monday, March 14, 2:30 p.m.-3:15 p.m.

Why Go: If your pre-teen wants to be the next Chuck Close they will love learning how to draw big faces as instructed by Artist Paul Merklein. This program is open to children ages 8-14 and only the first 30 artists may attend so get there early.
