What does a home-cooked meal mean to you? Halley Elementary School sixth graders explored that concept and created “Home For Dinner” exhibit and food drive, which will open to the public at the Workhouse Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The goal: to raise awareness of hunger and homeless challenges in southeast Fairfax County.
The term “Home For Dinner” bears significance for many of us, and its definition is different for nearly all of us. The exhibit is sponsored by the Workhouse and the Lorton Community Action Center, which hopes to raise non-perishable donations for its food bank. The opening reception for the exhibit is from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013. The reception is free and part of the 2nd Saturday Art Walk at the Workhouse.
