Springfield Resident Wins Lifetime Award from the Fairfax Symphony

Emilie "Mickey" Zimmerman served with the group for over 30 years

Springfield resident Emilie “Mickey” Zimmerman was recently honored with a lifetime achievement award for more then 30 years of service with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra.

Zimmerman helped form the group in 1957. He remembers playing at the group's first venue in Annandale High School, and he was the orchestra’s first Concertmaster when they acquired a permanent concert home at George Mason University.
