Peterson's Ice Cream Depot to Open for the Season on Saturday

If you needed another sign that spring is in the air, Peterson's Ice Cream Depot opens for the season Saturday.

The Clifton ice creamery closed for the season in mid November. It reopens Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

Last year, the shop was given the title "Chillly Champion" by Northern Virginia Magazine.

Here are the hours for the ice creamery up to April 2, according to the shop's Web site:

• Open Saturdays and Sundays until April 2 from 11:30 to about 7 p.m.
• Fairfax County Public Schools spring break: Monday thru Friday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to about 8 p.m.
• After spring break: Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to about 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to about 8 p.m.
