Trummer's on Main in Clifton Named Finalist for 2014 RAMMY Award

Restaurant was named a finalist Tuesday night in the Formal Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year category. Awards ceremony is June 22.

Clifton's Trummer's on Main restaurant was named Tuesday night as a finalist for a prestigious RAMMY award for 2014.

The RAMMYS are the annual awards presented by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington. The awards will be handed out at a ceremony on June 22.

Tuesday night, Trummer's became a finalist in the Formal Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year category.

Trummer's is located at 7134 Main St. in Clifton and was launched in 2009 by husband-and-wife team Stefan and Victoria Trummer, who both have a long history in the restaurant business. Victoria is a native of Clifton and the two are co-owners of the restaurant, according to the restaurant Web site. In addition to being co-owner, Stefan, a native of Austria, is also the manager and cocktail creator. Austin Fausett is the executive chef and Diana Roderique is sommelier.

Here's a description of the Formal Fine Dining of the Year category:

"The nominee is a restaurant that demonstrates a high standard of excellence in
food, service and atmosphere and shows dedication to sophisticated culinary techniques in a fine dining environment. The nominee must have been in business a minimum of two years by December 1, 2013."

The first three restaurants on the list are in D.C.; Patowmack Farm is located in Lovettsville, Va.
