Where to Buy a Powerball Ticket Near Fairfax Station

Local gas stations and convenience stores, grocery stores are common lottery retailers.

The Powerball jackpot has grown to a whopping $500 million ahead of the Wednesday night drawing, Powerball officials announced this morning. 

The cash value would be $327.4 million. 

Virginia Lottery spokesman John Hagerty said the state could see $6 million in Powerball ticket sales before the 10:59 p.m. Wednesday drawing, with sales peaking from 5 - 7 p.m. as people buy tickets on the way home from work.

“Powerball and Mega Million are jackpot-driven games,” Hagerty told Patch. “When people see that jackpot increase, it drives up sales.”

But, as the old lottery slogan goes, you can’t win if you don’t play.

Most grocery stores, gas stations and convenience stores are Virginia Lottery retailers.

The closest outlets to Fairfax Station and Clifton include:

  • Safeway, 5727 Burke Centre Parkway
  • Giant, 6011 Burke Centre Parkway
  • The Shell and Exxon gas stations on Burke Centre Parkway

Or, you could drive up to Falls Church. In the past 20 months, three Falls Church residents have won $1 million prizes.
