Getting Out and Getting In

As summer starts drawing to a close, the fall election season is springing into life and getting people excited and enthusiastic about the issues and the candidates. Thankfully, the weather has been more condusive to canvassing, giving us more opportunities to go out and speak to voters about Ed, the issues and why this is the most important election in Virginia in a very long time. We have been receiving positive reactions from voters we speak to all over the 42nd district, people are tired of the divisive issues and self-promotion that has been plaguing Richmond and they are ready for strong leadership that cares about the issues that matter to this district.

In another exciting development, folks across the district have opened up their homes to us, inviting their friends and neighbors to house parties to introduce Ed and our campaign and even hosting telephone banks to reach more voters in every corner of the district. The most exciting part about this is the participation by voters who want to see Ed bring his values and leadership to Richmond. Even in the heavily Republican precinct of Fountainhead, Ed received enthusiastic and welcomed support from neighbors who could not wait to see a Democrat represent them in the House of Delegates.

This kind of coming together of neighbors and friends is what keeps a campaign alive. Each person pledges to speak to their friends, family, neighbors and colleagues, creating a "multiplying effect" that gets Ed's message out to even more voters within the district. With this kind of support and participation, we will win this election in November.
