BRAC / FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY EXTENSION PROJECT

Daytime work - Closures occur between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Fairfax County Pkwy. (Route 7100) north and south from Barta Rd. to Franconia Springfield Pkwy. (Route 7900) - Single lane closed Monday - Friday for construction in median or shoulder widening.
• Franconia Springfield Pkwy. (Route 7900) east from the Fairfax County Pkwy. (Route 7100) to Accotink Creek bridge - Right lane closed Monday - Friday for the addition of a new exit ramp.
• Hooes Rd. east and west at Barkers Ct. - Flagger operation Monday - Friday for construction entrance work.
• Fairfax County Pkwy. (Route 7100) north from Rolling Rd. to Stream Way - Left lane closed for guard rail installation.

DULLES CORRIDOR METRORAIL PROJECT

Nighttime work - Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west from Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) to Frontage Rd. - Left lane closed Tuesday - Friday nights for station work.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at Spring Hill Rd. - Left turn lanes closed Tuesday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west at Westwood Center Dr. - Left turn lane closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west at Gosnell Rd. - Left turn lane closed Sunday - Friday for crane work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at Westpark Dr. - Left turn lane closed Sunday - Friday nights for crane work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east at Tyco Rd. - Left turn lane closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work.
• Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south to I-495 north - Ramp closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue south, make a right onto International Dr. north, make a right onto Galleria Dr. east, right onto Tysons Blvd., left onto Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north and follow signs to I-495 north.
• Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north at Tysons Blvd. - Left turn lane closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) south from Capital One Dr. to I-495 - Right lane closed Sunday - Friday nights will close for bridge work.
• Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) north and south from Great Falls St. to Anderson Rd - Single lane closed Tuesday - Friday nights for barrier work.
• Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123) north from Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) to Great Falls St. - Multiple lanes closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge work.
• Westwood Center Dr. east at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Left turn lane and through lane closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Tyco Rd. west at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Left turn lane and through lane closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Spring Hill Rd. north and south at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Road closed Sunday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Westpark Dr. east west at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Road closed Sunday - Friday nights for crane work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Gosnell Rd. north at Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Road closed Sunday - Friday nights for crane work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Tysons Blvd. east at Galleria Dr. - Right turn lane closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.
• Galleria Dr. east at Tysons Blvd. - Right turn lane closed Monday - Friday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour signs.

Police will be on site for motorist safety. All closures are weather permitting.

Weekday work - Closures occur between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Expect daytime delays in the Tysons Corner area along the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267), Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Dolley Madison Blvd. (Route 123).
  All closures are weather permitting.

 495 EXPRESS LANES PROJECT

Nighttime work - Closures occur between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

• I-495 north at Old Dominion overpass - Right lane closed Sunday night for sound wall work.
• I-495 north or south at Lewinsville Rd. overpass - Three lanes closed Monday - Saturday nights for demolition. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• Lewinsville Rd. east or west from Timberly Ln. Scotts Run Rd. - Road closed Monday - Thursday nights for sidewalk demolition. Traffic will be directed by flagger.
• Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west to I-495 north - Ramp closed Wednesday - Saturday nights for bridge demolition. Prior to work zone, traffic will be directed to take Exit 19A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south and follow signs to I-495 north.
• Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east to I-495 north - Ramp closed Monday - Saturday nights for bridge demolition. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 south to Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north, stay to the right and follow signs to I-495 north.
• I-495 south at Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south - Ramp closed Monday night for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 47A, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west, make a right on International Dr. north, and follow signs to Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123).
• Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north or south at I-495 - Two lanes closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge work.
• I-495 south to Exits 47 A & B, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west and east - Ramps closed Thursday night for camera installation work. Prior to work zone, traffic will be directed to take Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south, make a left onto International Dr. south and follow signs to Leesburg Pike (Route 7).
• I-495 north to Exits 47 A & B, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west and east - Ramps closed Friday and Saturday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 south and take either Exit 47 A or B, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west or east.
• I-495 north at Exit 47, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) - Two left lanes closed Thursday night for gantry work.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) east to I-495 north - Ramp closed Monday, Friday and Saturday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue east, make a U-turn at George Marshall Dr. onto Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west and follow signs to I-495 north.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west to I-495 north - Ramp closed intermittently for up to 30 minutes after midnight Monday, Friday and Saturday nights for traffic shift.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west to I-495 south - Ramp closed Friday and Saturday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to I-495 north to Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south, stay to the right and follow signs to I-495 south.
• Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west at I-495 - Road closed Friday and Saturday nights for traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 north to Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 south and take Exit 47A, Leesburg Pike (Route 7) west. 
• I-495 north and south from Exit 49, I-66 to Lee Hwy. (Route 29) overpass - Three lanes closed Sunday - Saturday nights for overhang and bridge work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• I-495 south at Exit 49, I-66 - Road closed Monday - Thursday nights for bridge work. Traffic will be directed to take Exit 49, I-66 west to Exit 62, Nutley St. south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-66 east and then signs to I-495 south.

• I-495 south to Exit 49, I-66 west - Ramp closed Sunday - Saturday nights for Traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 north and take Exit 49A, I-66 west.
• I-66 west to I-495 south - Ramp closed Sunday - Saturday nights for overhand and bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue west to Exit 62, Nutley St. south, stay to the right, follow signs to I-66 east to I-495 south.
• I-66 west at I-495 - Two lanes closed Sunday - Saturday nights for barrier work.
• I-66 east HOV (left exit) OR general purpose (right exits) ramp to I-495 south - Ramp closed Sunday - Saturday nights for bridge construction. Traffic will be directed to use the I-66 east HOV (left exit) or general purpose (right exits) to access I-495.
• I-66 east at Exit 62, Nutley - Two lanes closed Sunday - Saturday nights for overhead sign installation. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• Arlington Blvd. (Route 50) west and Fairview Park Dr. to I-495 north - Ramps closed Sunday - Thursday nights for overhead sign work. Traffic will be directed to continue west to Gallows Rd. (Route 650) south and follow signs to I-495 north.
• I-495 north to Gallows Rd. (Route 650) - Single left lane of ramp closed Tuesday nights for overhead sign work. Traffic will be able to make a left or right from top of the ramp onto Gallows Rd. (Route 650).
• I-495 north at Gallows Rd. (Route 650) - Three left lanes closed Tuesday night for overhead sign work. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.
• I-495 south at Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east - Ramp closed Monday - Saturday nights for sheet pile removal. Traffic will be directed to continue south to Exit 54, Braddock Rd. (Route 620) east, stay to the right, follow signs to I-495 north and take Exit 52B, Little River Tpk. (Route 236) east.
• Little River Tpk. (Route 236) west to I-495 south - Ramp closed Monday - Saturday nights for sheet pile removal. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 north to Exit 51, Gallows Rd. (Route 650) north, stay to the right and follow signs to I-495 south.
• I-495 north/I-95 south (Inner Loop) at Exit 173, Van Dorn St. - Multiple lanes closed Sunday - Saturday night for overhead sign installation. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight

Weekday work- Closures occur between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

• Expect single lane closures on the Inner and Outer Loops of I-495 from Springfield Interchange to beyond the Dulles Toll Rd. (Route 267) within the project area including all connecting arterials.

Ongoing work

• Twelve interchanges along the I-495 corridor from the Springfield Interchange to just north of the Dulles Toll Road are under construction until December 2012. Visit the 495 Express Lanes Interchange Fact Sheet Page.
