1. Mason Percussion Concert

  • Where/When: George Mason University- De Laski Performing Arts Building Room 3001, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax/Thursday, April 7, 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Mean Green are taking their act from the game side lines to the main stage. They are joined by the Mason Percussion Ensemble and the Mason Steel Pan Ensemble.
  • Pricing: Free, donations will be accepted at the door

2. Junior/Parent Golf Tournament

  • Where/When: Burke Lake Park, 7315 Ox Road, Fairfax Station/Saturday, April 9 at 8 a.m.
  • Why Go: Parents and their children ages 7-17 are invited to play in a two-man scramble for 18 holes. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
  • Pricing: $60 fee per team, lunch is included

3. Bull Run-Occoquan Trail Hike

  • Where/When: Fountainhead Regional Park, 10875 Hampton Road, Fairfax Station/Saturday, April 9, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Why Go: A naturalist will lead a 6.5 mile hike of varied terrain of easy to moderate hiking while stopping at various points along the trail to explain the natural and human history of the park. Bring good hiking shoes, water and a bag lunch. Children 12 and up are welcome to accompany their parents. Please contact Fountainhead Regional Park at (703) 250-9124 to make a reservation.

  • Why Go: This 70-member men’s chorus will delight audiences with their a cappella barbershop music.

5. Russian National Ballet Theatre: Romeo and Juliet

  • Why Go: The Russian National Ballet brings the greatest love story of all time to the stage. Elegant dancers, spectacular costumes and sets tell the tale of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet.
