Holiday Season Kicks Off With Clifton Candlelight Home Tour, Horse Parade

Clifton's candlelight home tour, horse parade, and carolers start off this Saturday, Dec. 3

The holiday season kicks off this weekend with the annual Clifton Candlelight Homes Tour, a horse parade, carolers, and decorations adorning the historic town. 

“The town is all decorated for Christmas and you feel like you're strolling through a Norman Rockwell painting,” said Jennifer Chesley, Clifton candlelight tour chair.

The events begin on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. with a Holiday Horse Parade and contest sponsored by the Clifton Horse Society. Horses decked out in holiday costumes form a procession through the town and their costumes are judged.

From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., visitors can view nine decorated locations as part of the home tour.

“I love the Candlelight Tour and am glad I've been able to help out our town by organizing this special event for the past 10 years," Chesley said.

The festivities all begin along Clifton’s Main Street, 12644 Chapel Road.

Tickets to the tour prior to Dec. 3 are  $20 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

On Dec. 3, tickets are  $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12.

Tickets are for sale in the Town of Clifton at , and . Also at Picket Fence in Burke and Banner's Hallmark in Centreville.

In addition to the above festivies, pet owners can also get photos taken with their pets on Saturday in Clifton from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holistic Veterinary Clinic at 12700 Chapel Road. According to the town website, the photos benefit a group called the "Operation Paws for Homes."
