Multiple lanes on I-66 west and I-495 south will be closed overnight starting at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 until 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26.
The closures are taking place while crews work to restore exit 49, I-495 south to I-66 from one ramp lane to two lanes. A fifth lane along I-66 west will also be opened to allow for additional travel, Virginia Department of Transportation officials announced.
This new traffic pattern will be in place until fall 2012. The work is being one as part of the 495 express lanes project.
