Put away your car keys for Car Free Day on Thursday.
Car Free Day is part of the state’s Try Transit Week statewide event sponsored by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT). It is held every year on September 22.
Try Transit Week encourages motorists to take another route to work other then their cars. These include the use of public transportation and car pools.
