Photos: Fireworks at the Workhouse Arts Center

Thousands cheered as fireworks erupted over Lorton's Workhouse Arts Center on Saturday night.

"This is the biggest fireworks show we've ever done," said Workhouse executive director John Mason. "I would guess there are at least 2,500 people here, and there are a tremendous amount of people who are being introduced to the Workhouse for the first time." 

Lorton's Brian Holder watched the show with his daughter. "We've been here for other events but I've never seen it this crowded," he said. 

The show began with the Mount Vernon Nights Concert featuring the music of the City of Fairfax Band Swing Ensemble, and was followed by the fireworks at sundown.
