This week is β€œOperation Medicine Cabinet Cleanout,” where residents can dispose of unwanted prescription medications.

Officials say disposing of unwanted medications prevents accidental poisoning or abuse by others and also protects the environment.

Unwanted medications can be taken to local police district stations through Saturday. The service is free and confidential. Both the and stations are drop-off points.
