Sales Brisk for Final of the 'Harry Potter' Films Debuting July 14th

Ticket sales are brisk at area movie theaters for midnight showings of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2," debuting at midnight Thursday, July 14th. The movie is the last of a seven-film Harry Potter movie series based on the books by J.K. Rowling.

At AMC Hoffmann in Alexandria, tickets for the IMAX 3-D showing are sold out for the midnight show. Tickets are still available for the midnight show in regular format.

IMAX and IMAX 3-D tickets are generally about $3-$5 extra, on top of the regular movie ticket price.

There are tickets available for a 3-D IMAX midnight show on the largest screen (six stories tall) in Northern Virginia, at the Air & Space Museum in Chantilly (there won't be a midnight show at the D.C. location).

Midnight showings (with some in regular format, 3-D, IMAX and IMAX 3-D) will take place at the following movie theaters:

• Regal Kingstowne 16 (703) 719-0784 Tickets are available for the midnight show, and the theater will only show 3-D and regular format, no IMAX.
• Regal Potomac Yard Cinema 16: (703) 739-4054 Tickets are available for the midnight show, and the theater will only show 3-D and regular format, no IMAX. 
• Airbus IMAX Theater, Smithsonian Air & Space, Chantilly (877) 932-4629 or (202) 633-1000; tickets are available for a midnight show on July 14th. (Beware, movie snackers! No food or drinks other than water are allowed into this theater.)
• AMC Tysons Corner 16,  (703) 998-4262: This movie theater will show a double feature: Part 1 ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1") starting at 9 p.m., followed by Part 2.
• Centreville Multiplex 12- (703) 830-5747: This movie theater may have a double-feature beginning at about 9 p.m. Tickets are available now for a midnight showing in regular format and 3-D, no IMAX. 
• Rave Fairfax Corner 14 (703) 378-6550 will show regular format as well as 3-D.
