  • Why Go: A family-friendly event featuring live music, food and a movie under the stars. 
  • Price: Admission is FREE

Pirate’s Day at Pohick Bay!

  • Where: Pohick Bay Regional Park, Lorton
  • When: Saturday, June 9 Marina Events from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.; Pool Events from 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: Visit a pirate camp and watch a pirate battle, then head over to the waterpark to prepare for an “attack” on the pool. 
  • Price: Marina/Park Admission is FREE for Member Jurisdictions; Waterpark Admission is $6.75 - $8 per person

A Night at the Races – Fostering the Future Cruise

  • Where: Cherry Blossom Paddleboat, Old Town Alexandria
  • When: Friday, June 8 from 7 – 10 p.m.
  • Why Go: All proceeds from this annual event will benefit The Fund for Alexandria’s Child.
  • Price:  $75 per person

Alexandria Citizens Band Concert

  • Why Go: Featuring a variety of music from jazz to Broadway to current popular hits.

Seussical the Musical

  • Where: Church of the Good Shepherd, Burke
  • When: Friday, June 8 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 9 at 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Good Shepherd Players present this musical based on various Dr. Seuss stories, including Horton Hears a Who, The Cat in the Hat and more.
  • Price:  $15 Adults; $10 Students

Christy Hartman Myers Writing Workshop

  • Where: Gunston Hall Plantation, Lorton
  • When: Saturday, June 9 from 8:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Why Go:  Fourth and fifth grade students will learn how to write and illustrate their stories from a published author.  The fee includes a snack, lunch and necessary materials.
  • Price: $15 per person – registration required

Youth Arts Festival

  • Where: Jefferson Houston School, Alexandria
  • When: Saturday, June 9 from Noon – 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Featuring visual and performing artists from Alexandria City Public Schools.
  • Price:  FREE

Wine on the Water

  • Where: Alexandria Seaport Foundation, Alexandria
  • When: Saturday, June 9 from 6 – 8 p.m.
  • Why Go:  Enjoy this wine tasting party while supporting Alexandria Seaport Foundation programs for at-risk youth. 
  • Price:  $55 per person

Gold Medal A Cappella Concert

  • Where: GMU Center for the Arts, Fairfax
  • When: Saturday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Hosted by the acclaimed barbershop chorus the Alexandria Harmonizers.  The show will offer a variety of musical selections, including barbershop classics and Broadway favorites.
  • Price: Tickets range from $29.50 - $34

Annie Jr.

  • Where: GMU Center for the Arts, Fairfax
  • When: Saturday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 10 at 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: This Stage Presence LLC production is based on the popular, family-friendly Broadway musical Annie.
