Fairfax Charity Collecting for School Supplies Drive

The supplies will go to needy children in Fairfax County.

A Fairfax-based charity that wants to provide school supplies to needy children is now seeking donations.

Our Daily Bread’s goal is to distribute the supplies to 700 qualified Fairfax County school children as part of its Collect for Kids back-to-school program. In 2011, the organization assisted 438 children in central Fairfax, the organization said.

“We hope the community will respond generously to ensure that children whose families are in crisis are able to return to school this fall with the tools they need to succeed,” Lisa Whetzel, Our Daily Bread’s executive director, said in a prepared statement.
