Clifton Opens Its Doors for Annual Home Tour

The annual Clifton Home Tour, where patrons get to view the unique homes in the historic town, is set for Thursday.

“There is someone in every room of the home on the tour,” said JoAnne Gallo, co-chair for the event put on by the Clifton Community Woman’s Club. “Everyone will pitch in and make this year a success. It’s an all-hands effort. “

The event, now in its 40th year, brings in money for the women’s club charitable trust distribution. It includes $20,000 in scholarships, food banks and local charities.

Four homes are on the tour this year, allowing patrons to go inside Clifton’s homes and get decorating ideas. The homes chosen this year are mostly older residences, including a Victorian farmhouse.

“The homeowners are very proud of their homes and their community and want to help a local club,” Gallo said.

In addition to the tours, the Acacia Masonic Lodge has been newly renovated and will serve as headquarters Thursday for the women’s club, with a membership table and a lemonade and cookie stand. 

will also be home to a “wine down,” which will include vendors, a silent auction, raffle, drinks and a lunch for those who pre-ordered it before May 15.
