Funeral Services for Paul Krause Set for This Week

Lt. Col. was killed in car accident on his way home

Services for the late retired Lt. Col. Paul Krause, 54, who died in a car accident March 14th, are set for Friday and Saturday. His family, including widow "Suki" and daughters Christina, Cheryl and Shaina, will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, in Fairfax.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Church of the Nativity of Our Lord, 6400 Nativity Lane in Burke. Krause will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Starfish, c/o Church of the Nativity of Our Lord.

Jim McDaniel, the director of Operation Starfish, said that the Krause family are parishioners at Church of the Nativity and have supported the church's efforts in Haiti for many years.

"We hope to build a house in his honor in Nativity Village at Chastenoye, our latest project on the north coast of Haiti," McDaniel said.

Fr. Dick Martin, who founded Operation Starfish in 1998, will be presiding over the funeral mass at Nativity this Saturday with Fr. Bill Korpi and Fr. Cedric Wilson.

"The Krause family is in the hearts and prayers of all of their Nativity family," McDaniel said.
