Crime Report: Woman Charged with Eluding Police, Child Endangerment

The latest incident reports from the West Springfield and Sully District Stations, which includes parts of Fairfax Station.

A 38-year-old woman was charged with speeding away from police, driving without a license, child endangerment, and hit and run.

Maria Cruz de Alvarez was arrested in the incident. According to Fairfax County Police, at 8:38 a.m. Wednesday, a police officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Ford Focus at the intersection of Braddock Road and Guinea Road.

The driver fled and struck a mailbox with her car, according to police. The driver eventually pulled over on the 4700 block of Gainsborough Drive. Authorities said that a 10-year-old child was in the car at the time. The child was not injured. 

SULLY DISTRICT STATION

Incidents reported on Tuesday, Oct. 22:

Alcohol enforcement

On Tuesday, officers from the Sully District Station patrolled the county searching for drunken drivers. Twenty-nine summonses were issued, according to the Fairfax County Police Department. 

Burglary

13000 block of Poplar Tree Road in Fairfax: a resident reported someone entered their residence and took property.

Larceny:

15100 block of Whetherburn Drive in Fairfax: a cell phone was reported stolen from a vehicle
