Fairfax Station Man Sentenced to 50 Months for Traveling to DC to Have Sex With Child and Possession of Child Porn

George Ronald Marion, a 67-year-old Fairfax Station man, was charged with 50 months in prison for traveling from Virginia to DC to have sex with an underage child and for possessing child pornography. The child was in fact an undercover agent working with the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force, and Marion communicated with the agent online, by text and by telephone between Nov. 28, 2012 and Dec. 18, 2012.

Marion traveled to the District to meet with the child, where he was arrested by law enforcement officials. A search of his home revealed seven videos and 16 photos of child pornography on his computer and on electronic storage devices, according to law enforcement officials.

Marion, a former U.S. Army officer, plead guilty in February. His sentence will be followed by 10 years supervised release, during which time he will be a registered sex offender, pay a $3,000 fine and have limited access to the Internet.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen, Jr.; Valerie Parlave, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office and Cathy L. Lanier, Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department. The case was part of the U.S. Justic Department’s Project Safe Childhood, which targets child predators.
