High Winds Escalate Brush Fire
Firefighters battle blaze this afternoon off Old Keene Mill Road
High wind aggravated a brush fire Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Old Keene Mill Road and Hillside Road.
The fire, which started around 3 p.m., began in a wooded area behind some homes. It was more difficult to fight because of high wind conditions, according to Rich McKinney, captain of the Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department.
Besides some trees, no property was damaged in the fire and no injuries were reported.
