One Charged with DWI in Sobriety Checkpoint

The Fairfax County Police Department held the checkpoint on May 27

One motorist was pulled over and charged with driving while under the influence during a sobriety checkpoint held by Sully District station police officers. 

The checkpoint was held on May 27 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. near the intersection of Route 29 and Bull Run Post Office Road, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

About 700 drivers passed through the checkpoint. In addition to the DWI arrest, eight were charged with traffic offense and two were charged with minor criminal offenses, police said.
