A fiery three-vehicle crash on I-66 Wednesday, June 26, snarled the morning commute

Fairfax County officials have released photos of crews cleaning up in the aftermath of an accident last week on I-66 that caused massive delays.

The accident just prior to Lee Jackson Highway was reported at about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5. A tractor-trailer carrying hay caught fire and became engulfed in flames, Virginia State Police officials said. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Traffic was backed up for nearly six hours as fire officials worked to put out the flames and clean up debris.
