Police: Clifton Man's Body Found, Crime and other Arrests in Fairfax Station and Lorton

Area crime events for the last two weeks preceding Feb. 15, as reported by the Fairfax County Police Department.

The body found in a Centreville quarry near Bull Run Regional Park Wednesday was Brian Woodworth, a Clifton man who went missing last week, Fairfax County Police have confirmed.

A 25-year-old man is in custody for allegedly igniting an incendiary device at the Sub Shop in Lorton last week.

Horace Thompson, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested by Washington Metropolitan Police on Feb. 14, after his release from the Washington Burn Center. He was arrested on a "Fugitive from Justice" warrant, and will be transferred to Fairfax County, where he will be served with warrants for arson of an occupied building and aggravated malicious wounding.

  • Three Lorton men are in custody for allegedly hitting a 19-year-old man last week in Hagel Circle.

  • Fairfax County Police conducted business compliance checks at 21 businesses. One arrest was made for the illegal sale of alcohol.
  • A home was burgled in the 8100 block of McCauley Way. At around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 9, the homeowner reported that someone entered the home and stole several things, including the television. There was no sign of forced entry. 
  • A purse was reported stolen from a residence in the 7500 block of Rambling Ridge Drive in Fairfax Station. 

Arrests

  • A 54-year-old Lorton man living in the 9400 block of Orange Blossom Trail was arrested on Feb. 12 for not stopping for a school bus with flashing lights. 
  • A 25-year-old Fairfax Station man living in the 10003 block of Hampton Road was arrested for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor offense. 
  • A 24-year-old Lorton woman living in the 9400 block of Cherwick Drive was arrested for driving without a license and for displaying fictitious plates. 
  • A 35-year-old Lorton woman living in the 7700 block of Wolford Way was arrested on Feb. 11 for driving while intoxicated and driving without a license. 
  • An 18-year-old Lorton man living in the 7800 block of Shepherd Hills Court was arrested on Feb. 8 for possession of marijuana. 
  • A 23-year-old Lorton man living in the 8000 block of Paper Birch Drive was arrested on Feb. 7 for driving without a license. 
  • A 28-year-old Lorton man living in the 7800 block of Lewis Chapel Circle was arrested on Feb. 12 for embezzlement.                                           
  • A 20-year-old Lorton woman living in the 8800 block of Sylvania Street was arrested for assaulting a famely member and damaging a phone line, which prevented a family member from calling for help. 
  • A 40-year-old Lorton man living in the 7600 block of Wildwood Court in Lorton was arrested for strangulation resulting in bodily injury and assaulting a family member on Feb. 11. 
  • A 31-year-old Lorton man living in the 9200 block of Ashland Woods Lane was arrested on Feb. 6 for possession of drugs and dumpring trash on the highway. 
  • A 37-year-old Lorton woman living in the 7800 block of Hagel Circle was arrested Feb. 12 for allowing a person with no legal right to drive her car. 
  • A 20-year-old Lorton man living in the 10200 block of Belmont Blvd. was arrested for public profanity and possession of drugs. 
  • A 49-year-old Lorton man living in the 9400 block of Cherwek Drive was arrested on Feb. 7 for identity theft. 
  • A 27-year-old Lorton man living in the 7500 block of Woodside Lane was arrested on Feb. 7 for possessing an open container of alcohol. 
  • A 24-year-old Lorton woman living in the 8100 block of McCauley Way was arrested on Feb. 9 for assaulting a family member.
