The meeting was held on Nov. 1

Couldn't make it to the latest Clifton town council meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 1? Here is a summary of actions taken by the council:

Order of Business:

1. Review of the Minutes (last regular meeting and any subsequent special meetings).

2. Report of the Treasurer.

3. Reports of Planning Commission, Architectural Review Board, and Committees:

Planning Commission; The town council approved an application for a use permit for a photography studio to be located at 12644 Chapel Road suite 204.

Architectural Review Board; There was not an official meeting. However, there has been discussion on possibly updating the guidelines that the ARB uses. Residents expressed concerns about the number of sandwich board signs per businesses. Violation letters may be sent to offenders.

Committees:

Parking Lot Project – Status update. The parking lot is essentially done and usable what remains is the building of the wooden fence.  

Civil War Trail Markers for Clifton Area. May be approved in coordination with the town’s historic committee. Motion passed.

Holiday Homes Tour – Status update. Spring Egg Hunt planning is underway.

4. Communications.

Park Bench in Honor of Raymond Van Lienden.

Ray Van Lienden family has contacted the town council they may donate a bench to the town in honor of Clifton resident Raymond Van Lienden.

Funding of Third-Party Legal Fees Related to Clifton Elementary School: The town council is postponing its decision on whether to give funding to Friends of Community Schools until after the Nov. 8 elections.

7. New Business:

Request to Use Community Hall for Fundraising for Clifton Elementary School-Related Legal Fees.
