Michael 'Spike' Williams Announces Run for Chairman of Board of Supervisors

Fairfax County native leaves state senate race to pursue local role

Michael "Spike" Williams, a Fairfax County Republican Committee member who had been preparing for a state Senate race, announced this week that he will run instead for Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

The Fairfax County native, who now lives in Oak Hill, said his campaign would focus on leadership he "feels has been lacking" on the board and in the county.

“Having grown up here, I am proud to call Fairfax my home," Williams said in a statement. "I have seen firsthand the benefit of world-class schools, plentiful jobs, and a quality of life that few places in America can claim. Unfortunately, I have also had to bear witness to its steady decline — and this concern is echoed in the voices of many residents concerned about the state of our county.”
