Nominations Sought for Volunteer Awards

Applications are due June 12.

Applications are now being accepted for the Barbara Varon Volunteer award.

The award is given annually to a Fairfax County resident who shows dedication to volunteer work. The application deadline is June 12.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors created the award in memory of Barbara Varon, former chair of the Fairfax County Electoral Board, who spoke several languages and wrote brochures to inform voters. She also was heavily involved in a voter registration outreach program for high school students.
