Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11th) will call on congressional Republicans to compromise with President Barack Obama on sequestration, in a news conference scheduled for Friday.
Connolly recently told Patch that Congress is "dysfunctional."
"There is a theory that maybe sequestration kicks in for a few months, and once the effects are felt, that members of Congress will come together and try to fix this," said Connolly. "I hope that's true, but I wish that weren't necessary."

Connolly will also discuss the potential effects of the sequester on his District (which includes part of Fairfax Station). Connolly will be joined by Democratic National Committee communications director Brad Woodhouse.
Connolly will address reporters at 10:30 a.m. Stay with Patch for the story!
