Rep. Connolly to Call on Republicans to Compromise on Sequestration

The Democrat from Virginia's 11th congressional District will discuss the issue Friday morning in a news conference.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11th) will call on congressional Republicans to compromise with President Barack Obama on sequestration, in a news conference scheduled for Friday.

Connolly recently told Patch that Congress is "dysfunctional."

"There is a theory that maybe sequestration kicks in for a few months, and once the effects are felt, that members of Congress will come together and try to fix this," said Connolly. "I hope that's true, but I wish that weren't necessary."
