Romney to Campaign in Fairfax Thursday

GOP presidential nominee to hold rally in Van Dyck Park.

Virginia is living up to its status as a battleground state this week, with appearances from GOP nominee Mitt Romney in Fairfax Thursday and first lady Michelle Obama

new poll released Tuesday by Gravis Marketing shows Romney with 49 percent of the vote in Virginia and President Barack Obama with 44 percent of the vote.

Doors for the campaign rally for Romney will open at 9 a.m. Thursday, and the event is set to begin at 11 a.m. in at 3720 Old Lee Highway.

Anyone who wishes to attend the rally will go through airport-like security, according to a notice on the Fairfax County Republican Committee Web site. Also note: "No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed in the venue. Cameras are permitted."
