What should the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton to do become successul? The nonprofit - the former home of the Lorton Prison - has struggled financially since it opened in 2008, and can't make payments to Wells Fargo on payments for $52 million bonds.

Six Workhouse employees have been laid off as a result of the budget crunch, and now its  future lies in a potential deal between Wells Fargo and Fairfax County.

The Workhouse is set on 55 acres and features more than 100 artists with studios, live theater performances, classes, art shows, dinners and movie nights.
