Washington Times Chief Tom McDevitt and Economist Steven Yeh to Address the Republican Women of Clifton

The topics: Current media trends and shaping U.S. domestic, fiscal and monetary policy.

Tom McDevitt, the chair of the Washington Times, and Steven Yeh, a strategic management consultant and economic advisor, will speak to the Republican Women of Clifton on the evening of Wed. May, 22. 

 “As a veteran of the media, Tom McDevitt knows it is an important source of information for Americans, and that understanding today’s trends is vital to being a knowledgeable citizen,” said RWC president Alice Butler-Short.

“We are all very concerned about the U.S. economy with the government’s soaring debt and unsustainable spending, and we look forward to hearing Steven Yeh explain how America can return to a sound economic footing,” she added.

The event will be at Fairview Elementary School, 5815 Ox Rd. in Fairfax Station. Refreshments will be served at 7:00 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Anyone can attend the meeting.

McDevitt, who lives in Fairfax, is chairman of the Times and the company’s Board of Directors, served as the paper's chief executive officer for five years. He started at the paper in 1994 as a business director, and, in 2001, managed TWT magazine division, which included Insight, World & I, National Weekly Edition and Washington Golf Monthly.  

Yeh, who considered running as a Republican against incumbent Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly (11th District) in 2012, is a strategic management consultant and economic advisor. His talk will focus on  how to renovate U.S. domestic, fiscal and monetary policy.
