Local Students Named National Merit Finalists

Robinson Secondary School and South County Secondary School students were named National Merit Scholarship Corporation finalists

Several Robinson Secondary School and South County Secondary School students were named finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program. 

School officials said that 234 Fairfax County Public School students from 19 different high schools were named semifinalists.

  • Robinson Secondary School: Nathaniel Banks, Kyle Gaulke, Cameron Plunkett, Sivasankari Rajamarthandan, and Collin Schumpp.
  • South County Secondary School:  Magdelaine Dickinson.

Three types of Merit Scholarship awards will be offered in 2012:  National Merit $2,500 scholarships, corporate-sponsored scholarships, and college-sponsored scholarships. Winners will be announced in spring 2012.
