Robinson Presentation Warns of Distracted Driving

The presentation will take place Tuesday.

Volunteers will be on hand Tuesday at for a presentation about the dangers of distracted driving.

The presentation for Robinson parents and students will take place Tuesday from 8-9 p.m. in the school's recital hall.

The “Distractions N’ Driving” team out of George Mason University will conduct the presentation. The graduate students visit area schools to inform students about the dangers of distracted driving.

According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, in 2009, one in five crashes where someone was injured involved distracted driving. Sixteen percent of drivers under age 20 involved in fatal accidents were reported to have been distracted while driving.
