Woman, GMU Staff Recognized for Rescuing Infant

The woman called police after seeing an infant left behind in an overheated car.

A woman was recognized this week for calling police after noticing a baby was left in a locked car in a George Mason University parking lot.  

Mary Matalas was presented an award along earlier this week along with several George Mason University officers and dispatchers, according to a press release from the university.

Matalas called police after noticing the baby in the car at the Mason Inn on June 7.

Matalas did not immediately return calls from Patch for comment.

This may sound picky, but your sentence would have been easier to read if you had said, "...presented an award earlier this week along with several..."
