Fairfax Station's Jackie Stephens Presented with D.C. Senior Games Personal Best Award

She started playing basketball when she was 60.

You might call Jackie Stephens a late bloomer. The 76-year-old Fairfax Station resident started playing basketball when she was 60 years old, and on Monday, she was awarded the Personal Best Award by the National Senior Games Association.

“Jackie exemplifies NSGA's  definition of personal best as the ongoing journey to achieve your best by overcoming obstacles, meeting life's challenges and inspiring others to be fit and active,” said Marc Riker, NSGA's CEO.

The award was presented at the opening ceremony of the DC Senior Games on Monday, at The Howard Theatre.
