'Fame-The Musical', Camping and 'The Milkshake Duo'

Here's what's on the docket this week in the Fairfax Station area.

It’s starting to get cool outside, isn’t it? Take a light jacket if you just so happen to attend any of these area events this week.

What’s Going On This Week?

1. The Metropolitan Performing Arts Theatre will be presenting “Fame - The Musical”, at the Workhouse Arts Center on Aug. 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 at 7:30 p.m. and at 3:00 p.m. on Aug. 25.

2. Want to go camping this summer? Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station has a large camping site (limited to no more than seven people and two tents per party) and it costs $28 per night per person. Find out more here.  

3. These are tough fiscal times, and this new blogger is concerned that Fairfax County Libraries will be decimated by budget cuts.

4. The Robinson Rams football squad will play a scrimmage against Osbourn High School on Thursday at home at 7:00 p.m.

5. On Saturday, enjoy the music of the Grammy-nominated “Milkshake Duo” at the Burke Lake Park Amphitheater at 10:00 a.m. By the way, this is the last performance for the summer concert series at the park.
