The South County Stallions, a Haunted House and Workhouse Events

Here's what's going on this weekend.

It's the weekend already?! Man, these fall days are flying by. Before you know it you'll be passing out handwarmers to nearly frozen Christmas carolers. But in the meantime, here are some fall events in and around the Fairfax Station area: 

Weekend Events

  1. Football fan? On Saturday, don’t miss the 4-1 South County Stallions at T.C. Williams High School!

  2. At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, the Friends of Mason Neck State Park will host a fall picnic

  3. Also on Saturday, don’t miss the “Home For Dinner” exhibit at the Workhouse Arts Center. The exhibit is being sponsored by the Lorton Community Action Center and the Workhouse and features artwork from elementary school students in Fairfax County.

  4. And speaking of the Workhouse, don’t miss the Second Saturday Art Walk!

  5. You can also take the opportunity to enjoy the Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festivalwhich badlit.com has called "the world's premiere horror film festival." It's just a short drive away, from Oct. 10-19 at AFI Silver Theatre , 8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD.

  6. Not quite ready to celebrate Halloween? There's plenty going on later in the month including a Haunted House in Kingstowne at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19. Admission for the event is $2.

  7. Also scheduled for later in the month is Hamilton Live, 600 14th Street NW in DC, is holding a Rocky Horror Picture Show Screening on October 19 at 10 p.m. Admission is free.
