Opened in January 2009, SushiJin Japanese Restaurant is a source of sensory delight to visitors. A tray in the foyer offers visual menu temptations, and the hand-written board above it provides customers more detail. Manager Steve Jung claims that the specials are the source of pride among the restaurant's "highly professional chefs" and staff. While Jung states that the restaurant is "Sushi-specific," he is also proud of its udon noodle soups and other hot dishes, including chicken teriyaki, bulgogi beef, seafood tempura and spicy snapper served with mussels in a cream sauce. SushiJin also offers "Sushi Boats" - platters of nigiri and sashimi that include as few as four dozen to as many as 100 pieces and range in price from 57 to 100 dollars. Tucked inside Fairfax Station Square, SushiJin draws customers in with its serene interior: pale wood floors are set off by darker wood tables and chairs; several seating areas are screened by bamboo, providing an intimate environment for diners; opalescent chandeliers over the sushi bar add a sense of whimsy; a jade green architectural installation anchors the space and is reason in itself to visit.
