Vincent Careatti, I see your posts and they are either about I-66 or Route 7. it seems you get offRead More the I-66 to get onto local roads when I-66 backs up. Does that make you want to use cut through and speed? Sounds like it to me. I want the police to keep an eye on you. Because of your cut through driving, you make it very unsafe for my neighbors children, the elderly and myself. Stay on your I-66 commuter traffic route and stay the heck out of places you don't belong. You are making things worst being there. You are the traffic many people don't want driving in their neighborhoods. You don't live there, don't visit or do business there, so you just don't belong there.
Lisa April 6, 2014 at 11:46 am
Part of the problem is the length of the traffic cycles. Miss the light and one can end up waiting 5Read More minutes to get going again, and in some cases have to go through multiple cycles to get through the intersection. In our society of impatience, people start doing other things like texting and reading email, then continue to finish up what they are doing once the traffic moves again. I see that every morning that I drive to work.

All this is simply proof that the regions police departments are not doing their jobs. All policeRead More officers are responsible to traffic duty when on duty. Most have an attitude to justify not doing this responsibly. Yet the death toll and injury toll is rising in every region across the nation. The last year's death toll was over 43,000. With serious injury's in the hundreds of thousands! And Fairfax is no exception. Most police officers think that they are supposed to get paid overtime on what is called 'auxilary' traffic duty assignments on $overtime$. And the dispatch offices are in on it as well. They get thousands of calls daily with traffic complaints directly involving improper Motor Vehicle Operator driving in any given area thru out Fairfax and most go ignored. Yet someone will call in a redundant call by comparison and the patrolling officers on duty will respond to it instead of the thousands involving even reckless driving reports! Bottom line? It is such gross negligence it is simply criminal in and upon itself! Emails. Written letters. Phone call reports about same being received about Motor Vehicle Operator small and big infractions and what is being done about it? A patrol officer will be sent out to investigate a kitty cat being stuck in a tree instead by dispatch, backed up by the on duty officer of the shift? And what is the departments sworn duty and oat to office and position? "To Serve and Protect". And what major subject issue is killing and injuring people more than any other? The Motor Vehicle Operator.

I read it to the end looking for the part that would play off the "hot water" in the lede.Read More Turns out "in a lot of hot water" was just a cold cliche. How about "wannabe cop"gets hard lesson in the law?

Let's all hope that they don't set a bond for this guy and let him back out on the streets anytimeRead More within the next 20 or so years. he is a felon, didn't he learn his lesson the first time around? I guess not. What an idiot, to be wearing the fake ID when pulled over. I mean really, like the officer wasn't going to check it out, come on now. This man's IQ must be in the single digits.
Patty Omaley April 4, 2014 at 09:18 pm
This man is a process server who was wearing a badge that said exactly that as at least 75% ofRead More Process Servers DO WEAR. He didn't identify himself as anything other than a process server to the officer and the "FAKE" id's were prototypes for the company his wife and him were going to start buried deep in his personal wallet and were NEVER used as identification. He is a church going husband and father of two who had this job as a career for over two years until the arresting officer decided to A: call all of his clients advising them of what he had charged him with and B: inform the news of what THE OFFICER was charging him with. There are a lot of holes in this story. and IQ has nothing to do with what happened on the 18th, Holt is an extremely intelligent and educated man.

I find many of the Patch headlines regarding tragedy distasteful and insensitive. For example, whenRead More they combine the tragedy with with other benign events in one headline.

I am sure the vast majority of disabled vehicles were not 'disabled', meaning inoperative, but wereRead More abandoned by drivers when they overestimated their ability to drive in a weather event....please stay home next time...goodness knows the media outlets had been crowing about this for days so they can begin their self congratulatory "Channel xx was there for you" propaganda.
